Orthopedic dog beds - why are they so useful?

Orthopädische Hundebetten

The demand for orthopedic dog beds is high. Many people now realize that dogs also need a restful sleep and a high-quality mattress. Especially with certain breeds such as dachshunds and older dogs, care should be taken to choose an orthopedic bed as a place to sleep. We will show you the advantages and explain what makes our orthopedic dog beds so special.

Orthopedic dog beds – the material is crucial!

Not every orthopedic dog bed is of high quality. It depends on the inside of the mattress. High-quality orthopedic mattresses are made of gel or visco foam. Both materials are also used in mattresses for people. They have similar advantages, but there are small but subtle differences. Gel and visco foam both provide a memory effect and thus adapt perfectly to the shape of the dog's body . The gel foam takes on every body shape perfectly and quickly springs back to its original shape because it reacts to pressure .

Visco foam , on the other hand, takes a little longer to return to its original shape because the shape changes with temperature . This makes mattresses with visco foam warmer because body heat is stored. A gel foam mattress is more suitable for dogs, especially in the summer months , because it provides a cooler sleeping environment . So if the dog turns over more often in its sleep, the mattress takes longer to adjust to this position.

The gel foam has optimal support and resilience . Open-pored gel foam, which is used in our orthopedic mattresses, is air-permeable and breathable.

Additional benefits of gel foam mattress:

  • Better suited for dogs who sleep more restlessly and change places more often
  • Cooler sleeping place
  • Higher restoring force

What does the memory effect mean in mattresses?

The memory effect in mattresses refers to the ability of memory foam to adapt to the contours of the sleeper's body and return to its original shape after getting up. This results in better pressure relief and greater sleeping comfort.

Health benefits & effects of orthopedic dog beds

With its anatomical shape, the orthopedic mattress offers optimal back relief and minimizes pressure points when lying down. This improves your dog's blood circulation.

Orthopedic dog beds contribute to a restful sleep. Some dogs suffer from arthritis or have problems with their spine, as is often the case with dachshunds. The memory effect ensures that the joints and spine are relieved and thus alleviates pain.

The mattress also regenerates the dog’s musculoskeletal system overnight.

It's not just sick dogs who benefit from the health advantages of an orthopedic dog bed. Since such a bed contributes to a restful sleep, it is useful for every dog. Nobody likes sleeping on a bad, saggy mattress - not even your dog.

Anti-allergic dog beds

Dogs can also suffer from allergies, for example from dust mites, pollen or various materials. Choosing the right place to sleep can significantly improve the quality of life of your four-legged friend. Therefore, you should always pay attention to the quality of the materials. Ideally, the covers should be washable so that dirt and allergens can be easily removed.

Dog beds for old dogs

Many older dogs have joint problems and their muscles slowly deteriorate, and they become weaker with age. Old dogs in particular need a lot of sleep, and so ordinary dog beds can quickly become worn out. Orthopedic dog beds ensure that the dog adopts a natural sleeping position and joint pain is alleviated. Accordingly, orthopedic dog beds are ideal for old dogs.

Ja.
